Karen has the financial and accounting experience having worked for Ernst and Young and Cap Gemini. Karen also has a good understanding of the machine tool industry having worked in, and been associated with it, for over 25 years.
Jim Kirkwood
Profile:
From the age of 16 Jim has worked with machine tools in servicing and repair. He began his career as an apprentice with Anderson Strathclyde, went on to form Axis Machine Tool Engineers then as a Director of Konecranes Machine Tool Service. Key aim is customer satisfaction – if the customer is happy he will pay the bill and come back.
Kevin Currie
Profile:
Kevin is a time served electrical and mechanical engineer joining us from Mills CNC, he was a UK service engineer supporting customers with service and installation of new machines tools in various projects within the sub contract, Aerospace, Automotive & Oil & Gas Sector.
Scott Reid
Profile:
Time served apprenticeship in electrical engineering. Formerly Machine Control Engineers and Konecranes MTS working on all types of machine tools. Trained in the use of the Renishaw QC 20 Ballbar, Renishaw QC 80 laser calibration and Heidenhain PWM 20 test kit.
Graham Ellison
Profile:
Graham is a time served machine tool maintenance/service engineer with over 38 years’ experience. He started his working life as an apprentice at Anderson Strathclyde, before moving on to Machine Control Engineers for a period of 22 years, firstly as a field service engineer and working his way up to the position of Service Director. He then held the position of Branch Manager at Konecranes Machine Tool Service before going back to a more hands on roll with TW Ward CNC where he was involved with installation, service and repair of some extremely large complex machine tools. We are happy to now have Graham as part of the Caldervale Machine Tool Engineers team.
Martyn Guy
Profile:
Martyn is a time served Mechanical engineer. Formerly Machine Control Engineers and Konecranes MTS working on all types of machine tools.
David Elmes
Profile:
After serving his apprentice as a mechanical engineer David joined Strathclyde Machine Tools at the age of 22. When he was made redundant by closure, David worked in Reid Kerr College for a number of years and studied in various disciplines. He then joined Blue Diamond Machine Tools Scotland in charge of machine tool rebuilds and service and stayed there for nine years before joining Axis to become a director. After a few years the company was then bought over by Konecranes MTS. David has a total of 38 years in machine tool service and rebuilds from the smallest to the largest of machine tools.
Fraser Kirkwood
Profile:
Fraser Kirkwood joined CMTE as our first apprentice into the business and has gained a vast amount of experience during his 4-year apprenticeship. He spent the first 6 months full time at East Kilbride & District Engineering Group Training. Fraser then returned to full time training within CMTE where he then worked alongside our engineers in different areas of the business. He also completed the Hurco UK in-house factory training and Renishaw laser and Ball bar training. Frasers wanted to further his learning and attended New College Lanarkshire one day per week for 2 years and has now completed his Apprenticeship in Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Engineering and has been awarded an HNC in both disciplines.
Fraser is now playing a key part in the growth of the business and gives reassurance to customers that CMTE are committed to providing the best service possible for years to come.
Darren Reid
Profile:
Darren Reid joined also attended East Kilbride & District Engineering Group Training where Darren won awards in both electrical and mechanical disciplines, he then continued to study part-time at college to complete his HNC in Electrical Engineering and is working towards his HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
Within the company Darren has learned valuable skills essential to the machine tool industry in electrical and mechanical disciplines during this time he has also received in-house training on the Renishaw laser and Ball bar kits here at CMTE.
In the coming months Darren will be completing his apprenticeship and we look forward to him joining the other service engineers out on the road.
